Infiniti Wins Two Best New Technology Awards
Last week at the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's press conference, Infiniti was awarded two prizes for it's work in leading edge technologies. Firstly, note that this is the first year for AJAC to award two technological innovation awards. In the past, the jury struggled to choose between innovations that could improve comfort, performance or fuel economy, and innovations that could ultimately save lives. This is no longer a dilemma, since the AJAC will now present one trophy in each category. The AJAC jury is composed of a dozen journalists who are recognized as having specific technical qualifications. Infiniti was the recipient of the Best New Innovation Technology award, for it's Direct Adaptive Steering system. With it, a vehicle's driver can select the exact level of precision and sensitivity of their steering. This system is managed electronically. A rapid response receiver fine tunes everything, and vibrations that annoy some drivers may be eliminated. The steering response is also faster and more accurate. More

Infiniti Q30 To Be Launched In Frankfurt
Several years ago, Infiniti decided that it wanted to enter the compact luxury vehicle segment. Upon arriving in that market during the early 1990s, the Infiniti I20 was launched; a plush version of the European Primera. Here, however, buyers see it as only a luxury version of the Sentra, which wasn't very interesting. More

High End Steering Management For the Infinit Q50
Infiniti's Q50 has not yet hit dealerships, but the tech specs alone already have us wanting to get our hands on one and drive it. The new Q50 is an engineering marvel, benefiting from Nissan's version of "steer by wire" technology, called Independent Control Steering Technology which was inspired by the latest developments in aviation. For the first time, the driver can choose the feel of the steering, thanks to DAS (Direct Adaptive Steering), which comes standard on some Q50 models. Triple world champion Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel, of the Infiniti Red Bull racing team contributed to the settings tweaks of this new steering system and helped to optimize the performance and behaviour of the Q50. Note that Sebastian Vettel is also Infiniti's Performance Director. DAS operates by transferring data pulses to an electric motor that instantly reacts, essentially forging an electronic connection rather than a mechanical one between the front wheels and the steering wheel. The driver's wheel motions are electronically transmitted to the car's front wheels. There is no mechanical loss, the steering is more precise and driving vibrations disappear. More

2014 Infiniti Q50
You may have already heard about Infiniti's new naming convention for their vehicles. The letter Q denotes cars, and QX identifies crossovers and SUVs. The first Infiniti to utilize the new naming convention is the Q50, previously known as the G37 sedan. The coupe and convertible versions of this car will carry the Q60 logo. A diesel model will be available in Europe. While the Infiniti G has always been nice, the new Q50 offers a more refined silhouette. Sleek and sculpted with an athletic stance, it looks good from all angles. Upfront, everything is built around the signature Infiniti double arch front grille. In back, the small integrated spoiler and thoughtful bumper lines show great style. Two different powertrains will be offered. The first is a V6 all aluminum dual overhead cam head 3.7 litre with 328 horsepower. It features Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control (CVTCS) and Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL). More
